چکیده

A 6.2 L diesel engine that meets China VI emission standard was selected to run world harmonized transient cycle (WHTC) and California Low Load Cycle (LLC) measure the pollutants. The brake specific under two cycles were compared, nitrogen oxides (NOx) analyzed carefully. results show NOx of LLC this is about 15 times than hot WHTC, 4.7 limitation current standard. low inlet temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) predominant reason for high in LLC. SCR lower 200°C accounts 52% total time with an average only 190°C. While WHTC 7% 275°C. efficiency calculated by sensor amounted on upstream downstream 75%, while 98% WHTC. It necessary focus thermal management aftertreatment system performance at temperature.

Demand Forecasting for Heavy-Duty Diesel Engines Considering Emission Regulations

Makers of heavy-duty diesel engines (HDDEs) need to reduce their inventory of old-generation products in preparation for the demand for next-generation products that satisfy new emission regulations. In this paper, a new demand forecasting model is proposed to reflect special conditions raised by the technological generational shift owing to new emission regulation enforcement. In addition, sen...

Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine with Cottonseed Oil Plus Diesel Oil Blends

aIn the present study a 4-stroke 5hp diesel engine was tested with Diesel oil plus cottonseed oil blends. The blends in different proportions (10 to 50 percent by volume) were tested at constant speed of 1500 rpm. The said engine is operated at different loads and characteristics like Brake power, Brake thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption etc. Engine performance for blends resulted in...

Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine fueled with Diesel-biodiesel-JP-4 Blends

The main objective of this research is to study the effects of JP-4-biodiesel-diesel fuel blends and operating parameters on the emission characteristics of a CI engine. The experimental tests were performed on a four-cylinder DI diesel engine. The Mixture-RSM method was used to develop mathematical models based on experimental data. The results showed that with the increase of the biodiesel pr...

Effects of blending a heavy alcohol (C20H40O with diesel in a heavy-duty compression-ignition engine

There is an extensive worldwide search for alternate fuels that can displace fossil-based resources, yet still fit within existing infrastructure. At Argonne National Laboratory, strains of fuel have been designed that are generated by photosynthetic bacteria, eventually producing a heavy alcohol called phytol (C20H40O). Phytol’s physical and chemical properties (cetane number, heat of combusti...
